Hi,
First of all, thank you for visiting my personal website. I'm Miguel Andrade, a Biomedical Engineer born in Salvaterra de Magos. Currently, I'm serving as the CTO of a startup that I co-founded with some friends while I was still in the university, the C-mo Medical Solutions.
Purpose of the website
In this website, you can find information about me, my career, and projects. I also share some of my personal thoughts and experiences related to technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, investing, digital health, regulatory affairs applied to Medical Devices, real estate, life in general... basically everything that I find interesting and worth sharing.

Professional Career
2012 - 2014
High School, Science and Technology
I used to aim for the bare minimum just to pass, but in high school, something clicked. I got curious about how the world works. That curiosity turned into passion, and passion taught me discipline. I ended up earning a distinction of merit all three years and graduated with an 18 out of 20.
2015 - 2019
MsC Biomedical Engineering, New University of Lisbon
University taught me that true expertise is a moving target. This realization sparked a commitment to daily growth and year-round technical exploration. By dedicating my summers to deep-dive research and development, I built several nice projects, most notably the foundational technology for the C-mo Wearable Device.
2017 - 2023
Software Engineer, Freelancer
During my university years and after, I started working as a freelancer for a few companies and individuals. My work ranged from developing web applications, websites, APIs, and backoffices for managing operations, to mobile applications.
2019 - 2021
PhD Biomedical Engineering, University of Lisbon
The biggest lesson from my PhD? That a full-time research career isn't for me. Still, it was an incredible journey that sharpened my critical thinking and gave me the freedom to explore ideas.

Software Engineer, Compta S.A
Part of my PhD was in collaboration with Compta S.A. There I created the first version of the Edge Systems of the Bee2Fire project, a system aimed to be deployed in factories and forests for early fire detection using IoT sensors and AI.
2019 - 2021
Software Engineer, Loggi S.A
As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Loggi, I specialized in backend architecture to design and scale the internal applications that serve as the backbone of the company’s logistics operations. I focused on transforming complex operational bottlenecks into software solutions.
2019 - 2021
CTO, C-mo Medical Solutions S.A
In the early days of C-mo, I led the technical vision and built the engineering team from the ground up. From hardware prototyping to software architecture, I oversaw the development of the entire product suite.

- 5M€ Seed Investment round, the largest in the Portuguese digital health sector
